A short and sweet Board Meeting took place during the picnic and the New Board and Chairpersons positions were confirmed. While I welcome the new Board members and Chairperson, I wish to thank all out going ones for their services rendered during 2011-12. All new positions took place with immediate effect except the treasurer who will hand over the accounts after close of financial year on May 31, 2012 to the new treasurer. The new position holders are mentioned in this newsletter. The current Newsletter is being sent to you by our new Chairperson -Newsletter, Amanda Fults. I am sure she will infuse many interesting ideas.

Our next major event will be the most popular Casa Via Mar get away in August. Rosie, our new Chairperson Get-Aways will soon work out the details and announce them. This will be followed by fall team tennis 2012 and I am sure Tony our new Tournament Director will come out with some interesting ideas. He will also announce his plans for monthly tournament.

Alim is a science graduate with a long Banking career in the past. He now works as a Real Estate broker and volunteers at Hoag Hospital, Irvine. Alim is married and has 2 sons and a daughter. His eldest son Mahmood is also a member of TTC. Alim’s interests include Tennis, Photography, Travel, Music and Social Work. He started playing tennis in 1987 while working as a banker in Oman. Alim initially took lessons from the world famous Peter Burwash International (PBI) based in USA. Alim played competitive tennis till 2001. He joined TTC in 2009. In 2010, the club assigned him the responsibility of the club’s Tournament Director. He was elected as the President of the club in 2011.
