On Friday Oct. 28, 2011, the clubs Haloween / Pizza party took place followed by Fall 2011 Team Tennis. Team 3 of Alim (captain), Mahmood, Pamela and Caryn was declared the winner of Fall 2011 Team Tennis.

On Friday Nov. 4, 2011, the monthly Board Meeting took place at Coco’s Bakery and Restaurant with a good participation from the Board Members, Chairpersons and Members.  Decision was taken about the Holidays Party. All participants were reimbursed $3 from the club to subsidize theirs restaurant bills. There will be no Board Meeting in the month of December 2011.

Casa Via Mar event August 20-21, 2011 was a big success. 11 players participated in the tournament Following were the final results: Winner of Casa Via Mar trophy – Marina Pavlovich. Best Male player – Bernard O Miller and Best Female player – Sandra Milligan.

In addition to the rotating trophy won by Marina, all winners received Gift Cards of Big 5, certificates and cans of tennis balls. Steve Zieber got injured during the tournament and retired. Next year Casa Via Mar event will take place from August 24-26, 2012 and the main tournament will be played on Saturday, August 25, 2012. Save these dates now.

Tournament Director: Fall Team Tennis will be played during the evenings (starting at 6pm) on Fridays. The event is open to all paid members of the club with a nominal non refundable fee of $5 used for balls, Pizza party and prizes. As it is a competitive team event, it is expected that members willing to register for this event will have at least NTRP level of 3. To check your level click here.

On Saturday April 30, 2011, following a Pizza Party, finals of the Spring 2011 Team Tennis were played. Final results were as under:

• Winners – Team 3 lead by Alim with Steve, Marina and Chris.

• Runner up – Team 1 lead by Cliff with Tom, Elsie and Caryn.

• 3rd Position – Team 2 lead by Singh with Nabil, Sandra and Lalitha.

On Saturday May 7, 2011, at 2pm, the club’s annual picnic took place at Magnolia Tree Park, Tustin which was well attended. Participants brought tasty food while the club provided drinks and party supplies. Thanks to Kay Matson for a wonderful arrangement and setup. Members enjoyed the food and friendly tennis. There was a competition for guessing the number of balls in a bag. The winner was Donna Wood who got a new can of balls in addition to the bag full of used balls. At the end, a general meeting was held to elect the nominees for the Board positions and Chairpersons for 2011-2012. With unanimous vote, all the nominees were elected as presented.
